ALTTTING, Germany, Jul 7, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The only known photograph taken of Wolfgang Mozart's wife Constanza was found among her friend's possessions in the archives of Altötting in Southern Germany.

The photograph is not the original made in October 1840, but a copy. The original print was made with the Daguerrotype technique used in Bavaria at that time, The Guardian reported.

The Altötting state archive said Friday it was the only time Mozart's widow had been photographed.

The photograph shows her standing beside Max Keller, a family friend, and his family. Behind them is a cottage with two windows facing a garden.

Mozart and Constanze Weber were married in 1782 and had six children, only two of whom lived. After Mozart died in 1791, she married Georg Nissen, a Danish diplomat.

The couple frequently visited Keller at his home in Altötting.

Nissen published a biography of Mozart and helped keep the composer's reputation alive.
