PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (AP) — A Bainbridge Island High School teacher accused of having sex with a teenage student and pressuring him to lie about it has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
KOMO-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1KXWjB2 ) that 26-year-old Jessica Fuchs entered the plea Monday in Kitsap County Superior Court. The judge reduced her bail from $100,000 to $25,000 and ordered her to have no contact with the 16-year-old student if she posts bail.
Fuchs was suspended in February after teachers reported claims that the science teacher had sex with an underage male.
Court documents say Fuchs was involved in a sexual act with the victim at her home when her husband walked in on them. The teacher and student traded emails and text messages.
The teenage boy is no longer enrolled at the high school.
