BANGOR, Maine (AP) — Astronaut and former Navy SEAL Christopher Cassidy is delivering Husson University's commencement address.

The U.S. Navy captain is one of three people receiving honorary degrees at Husson's 116th commencement on Sunday. The others are Robert Cort, president of Maine Energy, and Yousif Abdulla Taqi, CEO of Al Salam Bank in Bahrain.

Cassidy, who lives in York, Maine, earned the Bronze Star while serving in special operations in Afghanistan before being selected as an astronaut. He completed six spacewalks totaling more than 31 hours and spent a total of 182 days in space.

Cort and Taqi are both Husson graduates. Cort transformed his father's business in Maine while Taqi returned to his native Bahrain, serving as an accountant before getting into banking and real estate.
