OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Severe weather is threatening some of Texas' largest cities today. A tornado watch has been issued for nearly 50 of the state's counties. The areas include Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Wichita Falls, Abilene, Sherman and Denison. Also, a tornado watch is in effect for much of Oklahoma as well as for eastern Colorado and western Kansas.

PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona corrections officials say a female guard was sexually assaulted by a male inmate last month in the second such attack on a state prison employee in the last 18 months. The April 13 attack at the prison complex in Yuma was only revealed by the Department of Corrections on Friday after inquiries by The Associated Press.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Authorities are seeking surveillance video to confirm witness accounts of the accident involving an amphibious tourist boat that killed a woman yesterday in downtown Philadelphia. Witnesses have reported that the 68-year-old Texas woman was walking against a traffic light while "looking at an electronic device" when she was hit by the duck boat in Chinatown.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — Law enforcement officers, first responders and community members in Coeur d'Alene (kohr duh-LAYN'), Idaho, are remembering a fallen police officer. Thousands of mourners gathered today at a local high school to honor and remember Sgt. Greg Moore, who was shot and killed Tuesday while on patrol. A suspect has been charged.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The second wife of former "Tonight Show" host Johnny Carson has died in at her home in Los Angeles. Joanne Carson was 83. The executor of her estate says Carson died Friday. He says she had been in hospice care. Born Joanne Copeland, she married Johnny Carson in 1963, a year after he began hosting "The Tonight Show." They divorced in 1972.
