COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Gov. John Kasich (KAY'-sik) is the featured speaker for Ohio Dominican University's commencement exercises this weekend.
Kasich was slated to address the roughly 250 graduates at the Alumni House on the university's main campus in east Columbus on Saturday. The Catholic university planned to make Kasich an honorary doctor of humane letters as part of the event.
Ohio Dominican President Peter Cimbolic (sihm-BAH'-lik) says Kasich has strong personal ties to Ohio Dominican through his close friendship with its former president, the late Sister Mary Andrew Matesich (muh-TEH'-sik).
The speech comes as Kasich weighs a 2016 run for president.
