LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A fire ripped through a former cabinet shop that was being converted into a 20-bedroom vacation rental in northeast Utah, destroying the $1 million property. The Herald Journal in Logan reports that firefighters were called to the 200,000-square-foot structure in Garden City near Bear Lake yesterday morning. Officials said the Utah state fire marshal has been on scene and conducted a preliminary investigation, but that work will not be completed until later today.

PROVO, Utah (AP) — Provo police are offering a $15,000 reward for information that helps them find a 26-year-old Mexican woman who was studying in Utah and has been missing for three weeks. They are searching for Elena Laguna Salgado, who has not been seen since she left class at the Nomen Global Language Center in Provo on April 16.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Ute tribal officials are raising concerns about radon gas released from mill ponds at White Mesa Uranium Mill in southern Utah's San Juan County. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Mill owner Energy Fuels Resources says the radon emissions are constantly monitored and within acceptable limits.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Enter a warehouse north of Provo and step onto a space station to battle aliens and giant spiders. A building in Lindon is the testing grounds for a Utah company planning to build a 100,000-square-foot virtual reality facility in Pleasant Grove next year. The gaming center called The Void will feature as many as eight 60-by-60-foot gaming pods, each with a different kind of experience for up to 10 players at a time.
