COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A 26-year-old man arrested in the fatal shooting of a Coeur d'Alene police police officer has been charged with first-degree murder. In the hours after Sgt. Greg Moore was critically wounded early Tuesday, Jonathan Renfro was initially charged with counts including attempted murder. Moore died Tuesday evening. The Spokesman-Review reports Kootenai County Public Defender John Adams confirmed yesterday that the charges have been upgraded to first-degree murder.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Twin Falls County deputies say a 73-year-old man has died in a parachute jump off a bridge over the Snake River Canyon in Idaho. The Twin Falls Times-News reports that deputies say the man's parachute deployed too late and he landed last night in the Snake River. Friends pulled him from the water and brought him to a dock at a nearby park. Deputies say the man was an experienced BASE jumper. He was not immediately.

NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Classes have not been cancelled after about 150 middle school students stayed home sick and dozens more went home sick throughout the day. KBOI-TV reports that students stayed home yesterday from Lone Star Middle School in Nampa. School health officials say the students may have contracted the highly contagious norovirus, which causes an illness sometimes called the stomach flu.

NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Idaho officials say five Idaho juveniles have been removed from a Utah treatment facility following a report of sexual misconduct. Idaho Department of Correction spokesman Jeff Ray tells the Idaho Press-Tribune that the misconduct was reported in March at the Copper Hills Youth Center in West Jordan, Utah.
