NEW YORK (AP) — New York City police officials are assessing a threat against blogger Pamela Geller that's posted on a site that's related to the Islamic State group. Geller was the organizer of a purposely controversial cartoon contest about the Prophet Muhammad in Texas last weekend where two men started shooting before they were killed by police.
UNDATED (AP) — A line of severe storms is rumbling through Kansas, producing at least nine tornadoes. But so far, there are no reports of any injuries. The National Weather Service says the strongest tornadoes have been in the sparsely populated north-central part of the state. In Oklahoma, dozens of homes were destroyed by tornadoes on the outskirts of the Oklahoma City area.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore's mayor says she'll accept outside intervention to rebuild public trust in a city torn by riots over the death of Freddie Gray, a black man who suffered a fatal spinal injury in police custody. Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has asked the U.S. Justice Department to launch a broad civil rights investigation into how police use force, and search and arrest suspects.

UNDATED (AP) — The NFL:'s newly released report on "Deflategate" barely stops short of calling the New England Patriots star quarterback a cheater. It did, however, call some of Tom Brady's claims "implausible" and left little doubt that he had a role in having footballs deflated before the AFC title game against Indianapolis. The league will now determine what penalties will be levied.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — No injuries are being reported after a train hauling crude from North Dakota's oil patch derailed and caught fire early today in a rural area of the state. A BNSF railroad spokesman says two cars continue to burn. The derailment follows a string of oil train fires linked to the volatile crude from the Bakken region.
