CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Lawmakers are reviewing a bill that would admit hearsay evidence in the early stages of some court cases. The bill deals with hearsay evidence, such as an accuser's account of a crime as told to police. Under the bill, hearsay could be brought up in a preliminary hearing or in secret grand jury proceedings for child sex abuse or domestic violence cases.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to a conviction in an attempted fire bombing at a fast-food restaurant in Reno. The FBI says someone threw Molotov cocktails through the window of the KFC in March and spray painted the initials "ALF" on the drive-thru menu. The building suffered damage but was unoccupied.

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities at Grand Canyon National Park say a man's body has been recovered and the death is being investigated a possible suicide. They say the body of 25-year-old Alejandro Bussot of Miami was located today about 250 feet below the South Rim. It's the third fatality at the canyon this year. A Nevada man accidentally fell to his death on Thursday.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 79-year-old man has been arrested in Las Vegas after his girlfriend was found dead in their home. Las Vegas police say Joseph Frohlich was arrested yesterday on a murder charge. Christine McQuade was found dead in the bedroom with an apparent head injury. The man allegedly told police he choked her before smashing her head against the dresser or nightstand.
