CONYERS, Ga. (AP) — Rockdale County sheriff's officials say a student has been taken into custody after a shot was fired inside a local middle school.

Cpl. Michael Camp says a single shot was fired inside a boy's restroom at Conyers Middle School Tuesday afternoon. Camp says no injuries have been reported. The student's identity has not been released.

Camp says the gun has been recovered and the school was placed on lockdown. Investigators did a precautionary sweep of the building to check for any additional weapons.
