HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a motorist was pronounced dead after his SUV struck a house on Long Island. No one inside the home was injured.
Suffolk County police say 49-year-old James Spillane of Syosset (seye-AH'-siht) was driving late Friday when his SUV veered to the left and drove across a lawn, then crashed into the home in Huntington.
Spillane was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say a preliminary investigation indicates he may have suffered a medical emergency before his SUV left the road.
There was minor damage to the house. The SUV was impounded for a safety check.
