NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A historic Nashville school that has produced a number of distinguished alumni is celebrating 100 years.
The University School of Nashville was founded in 1915.
Its notable graduates include Stanford Moore, winner of the 1972 Nobel Prize in chemistry; Robert K. Massie, winner of the 1980 Pulitzer Prize for a biography of Peter the Great; and Gideon Yu, former CFO of Facebook and YouTube.
As part of the school's centennial celebration, alumnus Michael Puett has been invited to speak at the school at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Puett, who graduated from USN in 1982, is professor of Chinese history at Harvard University.
He will be speaking on China's relevance and potential impact on the United States' educational system.
