VIRGINIA CITY, Nev. (AP) — A 62-year-old Dayton man has died from injuries he suffered last weekend in a crash between two motorcycles that shut down State Route 341 near Virginia City for several hours.
The Nevada Highway Patrol says Kevin Mcintire died on Thursday at Renown Regional Medical Center. He'd been there since he was struck head on by another motorcyclist about 10:40 a.m. Saturday.
The patrol says 47-year-old Sean Labrie of Spark was headed southbound about 3 miles north of Virginia City when he apparently failed to negotiate a curve, crossed into the northbound lane and struck Mcintire.
Labrie also was taken to Renown, where he remains in serious condition.
The patrol says neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have played a role in the accident but it remains under investigation.
