NEW YORK, Jul 5, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Jacob Young, who plays J.R. Chandler on the ABC series "All My Children," has agreed to extend his run in the Broadway production of "Beauty and the Beast."

After originally agreeing to stay with the production until mid-July, the 26-year-old actor now will perform in the musical until Aug. 20, Playbill.com reported.

Young, who received an Emmy Award for his work on "All My Children," plays Lumiere in the musical -- the sixth longest-running Broadway production in history.

This incarnation of "Beauty" has run for 2,250 performances since opening at the Palace Theatre on April 18, 1994, the Web site said.
