SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — The future of the dilapidated D'Andrea Golf Course in Sparks is unclear as the six-parcel property is no longer up for auction.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (http://on.rgj.com/1JbJSA1 ) that the owner of the golf course has paid the $462,000 in back taxes owed on the property, halting plans for an auction on April 22.
The course shut down in 2012 and has since gone to seed, with the dilapidated appearance exacerbating what neighbors say has been a long-standing contentious relationship with the owners, IPC D'Andrea, LLC.
The six parcels are zoned to only be used as a golf course, which would have posed problems for any potential owners, especially if the parcels had been sold separately.
D'Andrea is an upscale neighborhood east of downtown Sparks.
