TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — The University of Toledo has a new place for its next president to call home.
The University of Toledo Foundation announced Wednesday it has finalized the purchase of an Ottawa Hills residence to house the university's president. The nonprofit foundation says the $922,000 home was paid for with private funds.
University officials say the current presidential residence, called the Levis House, doesn't have the setup to accommodate official university entertaining or donor gatherings. Officials say the new 7,253-square foot presidential residence better suits the university's needs.
The Blade in Toledo reports (http://bit.ly/1HaApKH ) the university's newly selected president Sharon Gaber will be the first to live in the new presidential residence when she begins her role this summer.
Officials say the 1920s-era Levis House will be sold.
