WESTFIELD, Mass. (AP) — The Westfield State University community is in mourning over the unexpected death of a student and football player.

Twenty-two-year-old Edmond Fallon was found dead in his apartment late last week.

The cause of death remains under investigation, but it does not appear suspicious.

Fallon was a senior with a double major in English and political science. He was also a starting offensive lineman for the school's football team.

He grew up in Wilbraham and graduated from Minnechaug Regional High School.

Football coach Pete Kowalski called Fallon "a good student, a pillar of the community, a dedicated, hard-working football player and a friend and a brother to everyone on the team."
