FAIRDALE, Ill. (AP) — Forecasters say Philadelphia, Washington and other parts of the Atlantic coast could see the same kind of dangerous weather today that ripped through the Midwest yesterday. A 67-year-old woman was found dead inside her home in Fairdale, Illinois, when a tornado swept homes off their foundations Thursday. Seven other people were injured. Emergency officials say just about every structure in the small town of 200 residents was either destroyed or damaged.

PANAMA CITY (AP) — President Barack Obama is in Panama for the Summit of the Americas. His expected encounter with Cuban President Raul Castro will mark a historic moment as the U.S. and Havana try to restore ties they abandoned decades ago. Obama and Castro have no formal meetings scheduled together, but even a brief handshake or hallway greeting will be scrutinized for signs of whether the two nations are really ready to put their hostile pasts behind them.

ISLAMABAD (AP) — Pakistani lawmakers have voted not to join the Saudi-led coalition targeting Shiite rebels in Yemen. Pakistan's parliament instead is calling on warring parties in Yemen to resolve the conflict through peaceful dialogue.

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) — The Palestine Liberation Organization says it will not be drawn into military action in an embattled Palestinian refugee camp in Syria that has been overrun by Islamic State extremists. The PLO statement late Thursday contradicts assertions made earlier in the day by a PLO emissary to Damascus, who said that Palestinian groups are ready to join forces with the Syrian government to expel IS fighters from the Yarmouk camp.

RABAT, Morocco (AP) — Morocco's state news agency says 31 people have been killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a bus carrying a group of young athletes. The bus reportedly hit a tanker truck, which burst into flames, consuming both vehicles. Authorities say nine other people were injured and taken to hospitals following the early-morning crash in the southern part of the country.
