PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Maine's Veterans Affairs facilities are better than the national average at avoiding long wait times, an AP investigation of recent data has found.
The state's sole VA hospital — the nation's first — delayed an average of 1.2 percent appointments more than 31 days between Sept. 1, 2014 and Feb. 28, 2015. The average for the nation was 2.8 percent.
