ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons have waived safety Zeke Motta, who missed the 2014 season with a neck injury.

Motta, a seventh-round pick from Notre Dame in 2013, had a promising start to his career when he played in 10 games, including one start, as a rookie. He had 16 tackles.

Motta was placed on the physically unable to participate list before the 2014 season.

He was a team captain at Notre Dame. He had 77 tackles and broke up three passes in his final season.
