CINCINNATI (AP) — Sophomore point guard Brandon Randolph is transferring from Xavier after his playing time diminished during the Musketeers' Sweet 16 season.

Randolph made six starts during his two seasons at Xavier, averaging 2.4 points and 1.2 assists. He had a career-high 12 points during a win over Gardner-Webb during his freshman season.

Senior Dee Davis was the starting point guard both seasons. Randolph lost the role of primary backup to freshman Larry Austin Jr. as this season went along.

The Musketeers beat Ole Miss and Georgia State in the NCAA Tournament to reach the Sweet 16 for the fifth time in the last eight years. They lost to Arizona in a regional semifinal. They lose Davis and senior center Matt Stainbrook.
