WALLACE, Idaho (AP) — Authorities in northern Idaho say they're looking for whoever is stretching plastic wrap across Interstate 90 in a prank that is damaging vehicles and could turn deadly.

The Shoshone County Sheriff's office says deputies responded to the Hill Top Overpass and Shiplett Overpass late at night over the weekend after reports of vehicles hitting the plastic.

Police say at least one vehicle sustained extensive windshield damage.

Idaho Transportation Department workers say they spotted the suspects wearing dark clothing and using flashlights but they got away before police arrived.

Police say they will conduct extra patrols.
