CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — Caldwell police say a man and his fiancée locked themselves in a closet after the family's dog attacked the woman, while two toddler children slept their bedroom.
The Idaho Statesman reports (http://bit.ly/1C0SEz2 ) police officers shot and killed the dog early on Saturday after the animal tried to attack them as well.
The two children and the man were unharmed. The 20-year-old woman was found inside the closet with multiple bite wounds. She was transported to the hospital, but her injuries are not life-threatening.
Police did not say what the dog's breed was, or why it attacked the woman.
