STAFFORD, Va. (AP) — A former Stafford County teacher faces a maximum of 22 years in prison for having sex with students.
The Free Lance-Star reports (http://bit.ly/1FlgB7V ) that 28-year-old Erica Layne Mesa pleaded guilty Friday to two counts of electronic solicitation of a minor and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Sentencing is set for May 21 in Stafford Circuit Court.
Mesa taught math at Colonial Forge High School. She pleaded guilty to charges involving two students but admitted having sex with two others.
Defense attorney Mark Gardner said Mesa is not a pedophile and "was not preying on people who had no interest in participating."
