SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A California man who police say drove nearly 800 miles for what he thought would be sex with a 12-year-old girl has been sentenced to federal prison.
Cameron Lawson Call was sentenced Wednesday in Salt Lake City to nearly four years in prison.
Prosecutors say the 35-year-old Loomis man contacted a police detective posing as an underage girl last year and was arrested in Vernal after driving to a hotel to meet for sex.
The Deseret News in Salt Lake City reports (http://bit.ly/1MVokbP ) Call pleaded guilty to one count of traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct in a November deal with prosecutors.
Call's lawyer did not immediately return a call from the Associated Press seeking comment on the case.
