GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — Nine people have been arrested and two more are being sought in connection with what authorities say is a large drug distribution ring in western Colorado.

Court documents made public Monday show how police used wiretaps, at least six confidential informants and listened in on phone calls with jail inmates to dismantle the alleged ring.

The alleged ringleader, 30-year-old Eduardo De La Cruz of Salt Lake City, was arrested Feb. 17 for absconding parole in Utah. He's being held on bonds totaling $225,000.

The Daily Sentinel in Grand Junction (http://bit.ly/19zubYm ) reports that documents suggest the investigation began in August. Investigators say the drug ring was a significant supplier of heroin, methamphetamine, cocaine and prescription drugs in Mesa County.
