NEW YORK (AP) — Authorities have charged a 16-year-old girl and arrested two other teens in the caught-on-camera beating of a 15-year-old at a New York City McDonald's.
The Daily News reports (http://nydn.us/1GDGflb ) Saturday that Aniah Ferguson was charged with gang assault for the March 9 fight at the Brooklyn restaurant.
The paper says two other suspects were awaiting arraignment Saturday for their roles in the melee: a 17-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl.
Video of the beating shows a group attacking the teenage girl while dozens of onlookers watch and cheer. Authorities say the victim suffered a black eye and other injuries.
The paper says Ferguson's defense attorney Sarah O'Leary told the judge her client was trying to turn her life around, pleading for leniency.
The teen was jailed on a $500,000 bond.
