SOCHI (AP) — Russia's Semyon Pavlichenko won the European championship men's luge title Sunday in front of his home crowd, adding to the world title he won last month.

Pavlichenko set a time of 1 minute, 44.020 seconds over two runs at Sochi's Sanki Sliding Center, last year's Olympic venue.

Fellow Russian Alexander Peretyagin was 0.232 seconds behind for second place, with Germany's Felix Loch third, 0.319 seconds off the pace as he failed to replicate his Olympic win in Sochi a year earlier.

The race doubled as the final round of the men's World Cup, which Loch had already won. The German finishes with seven wins from 12 races.

A team relay is later Sunday.
