LAS VEGAS (AP) — The University of Nevada, Las Vegas is hosting a public tribute to the Runnin' Rebels former basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian.

University officials have said the tribute starting at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Thomas & Mack Center arena will be free and there will be no reserved seating.

UNLV says it will include ESPN personality Kenny Mayne, remarks from former players, video tributes and music performances.

The legendary coach died Feb. 11 at the age of 84.

Family and friends attended a private memorial service held Feb. 16 in Las Vegas. Two days later, a social media campaign prompted Las Vegas casino-hotels to dim their lights for three minutes in honor of the coach.

The university says the event will be streamed live on www.unlvrebels.com.
