SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Kyle Hittle, who scored 18 straight Incarnate Word points in the second half, finished with 28 as the Cardinals defeated Houston Baptist 77-64 in Southland Conference play on Monday night.

Denzel Livingston contributed 16 points and Traylin Farris added 13 for Incarnate Word (17-7, 9-5), which has won eight of its last 10 games.

Houston Baptist held a 31-29 halftime lead but the Cardinals came out on fire in the second period, running to a 45-35 advantage at the 15:03 mark. They pushed that to a 63-47 advantage when Hittle nailed a trey with 8:11 left.

UIW shot just 31.4 percent from the field in the first half but made 15 of 26 (57.7 percent) in the second half.

Anthony Odunsi made 4 of 7 field goals and scored 15 points, and Josh Ibarra had 14 points and 14 rebounds, for Houston Baptist (11-13, 6-8).
