FALUN, Sweden (AP) — Norway easily won the men's cross-country team sprint on Sunday, giving Petter Northug his 11th world championship title.
Northug didn't even have to use his powerful sprinting ability at the end as he and teammate Finn Haagen Krogh decided the final on the third of six legs around the 1.5-kilometer course. Krogh built a big gap to the rest of the field and Northug extended it further as Norway won its fifth gold in six cross-country events at these Nordic skiing worlds.
It was Krogh's first major championship medal.
Russia finished more than 5 seconds back in second, while Italy was third.
