Jun. 30--Puebloans know they're in the midst of full-scale summer when the Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center begins its five-week run of Festival Friday parties.
And sure enough, as July temperatures are only a day away from starting to soar, the weekly fun event is just 'round the corner.
The parties will run in an outdoor setting, from 6 to 10 p.m., beginning July 7 and running through Aug. 4, in the center's Jackson Sculpture Garden, paseo and fountain area. The musical performers will be on the grand staircase.
Happy-hour specials - beer, wells and wine - will be offered in a two-for-the-price-of-one deal from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., when the music starts.
Admission costs $4 in advance (tickets are available at the arts center box office, 210 N. Santa Fe Ave.) or $5 at the gate.
The season's lineup: July 7, Andy Clifton & Company; July 14, The Martini Shot; July 21, Gonzalo; July 28, Steele; Aug. 4, Phat Daddy and the Phat Horn.
For more information or for tickets, call the arts center at 295-7222.
