RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno police say the apparent homicide victim found in an apartment near the University of Nevada campus was a 46-year-old Reno man with a criminal history.
Officer Tim Broadway said Wednesday detectives are following active leads in search of the suspect or suspects in the killing of David Sims.
A man who lives in the apartment on the west edge of the campus north of Interstate 80 called police about 7 p.m. Monday to report he'd found the body.
Secret Witness is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.
Police haven't disclosed the cause of death but say it doesn't appear to have been a random act of violence.
Broadway says Sims was a convicted felon with a history of property crimes.
