Snow hits New England again...Ski resorts are happy...Rules proposed for commercial drones

BOSTON (AP) — A man out looking for a newspaper in Boston this morning has a request for Mother Nature: "Give us a break." He says it seems that every few days the city is getting slammed with another foot of snow. That's how much fresh snow is on the ground across much of eastern Massachusetts today. Coastal areas are seeing blizzard conditions. One woman in Maine says she can't tell if it's snowing or not because so much is snow is being blown through the air.

FAYSTON, Vt. (AP) — While many Northerners have had enough of snow, skiers and the resorts that cater to them are welcoming it. The marketing director for one Vermont resort says this winter's repeat snowstorms have created "world-class" conditions that are even attracting skiers from out West. Large numbers of skiers are expected to flock to the slopes as the region heads into the mid-winter school break.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The government has announced its long-awaited plans for regulating commercial drones. Among other things, the Federal Aviation Administration wants operators to pass a knowledge test and a federal security check, and to refrain from flying the drones at night. Final versions of the rules proposed today are probably at least two years away.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Supporters of President Barack Obama's health care law are out in force trying to get uninsured people signed up ahead of the official deadline for 2015 coverage. It's got the trappings of a get-out-the-vote drive — with email reminders, telephone calls and community-level volunteers. A technical problem that knocked out income verification for the HealthCare.gov website is now fixed. Some people were getting a yellow screen that didn't let them proceed.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — "Fifty Shades of Grey" has raked in the Valentine's Day dollars, earning an estimated $81.7 million in its first three days. The weekend's top movie could be on track to earn over $90 million during the four-day holiday weekend. "Kingsman: The Secret Service" opened at No. 2 with $35.6 million. "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" came in third with $30.5 million.
