WARRENSVILLE HEIGHTS, Ohio (AP) — A team of police officers and government agents surrounded a house early Friday and arrested a man they suspect killed three people and injured three others in a barbershop shooting last week, officials said.

Officers acting on a tip surrounded the house, and Douglas Shine Jr. surrendered without incident, Warrensville Heights police Chief Wesley Haynes said.

"Everybody is relieved that this individual is off the street," Haynes said. "He was dangerous, violent, unpredictable. I think the level of relief is high."

Shine is accused of opening fire in the Chalk Linez barbershop on Feb. 5, killing owner William Gonzalez and his friends Walter Lee Barfield and Brandon White. Barfield worked for Gonzalez at the barbershop, and White went in that night to get his hair cut and play video games.

Three other people were shot at the suburban Cleveland barbershop but survived and are recovering.

Officials wouldn't comment on a possible motive, saying it's still part of their investigation.

Shine, who was in jail in Cuyahoga County, couldn't be reached for comment and didn't have an attorney. He has a long criminal history, including robbery and assault charges, Haynes said. He didn't make a statement when he was arrested.

The FBI, the county sheriff's office, a gang task force and the U.S. Marshals Service assisted Warrensville Heights police in the search and arrest, Haynes said.
