LAS VEGAS (AP) — Hall of Fame coach Jerry Tarkanian, who built a basketball dynasty at UNLV but was defined more by his decades-long battle with the NCAA, died Wednesday after several years of health issues. He was 84. Tarkanian took the Runnin' Rebels to four Final Fours and a national championship in 1990.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Health officials in Clark County say tests have confirmed that a child and an adult have measles, bringing to four the number of cases reported in and around Las Vegas since the beginning of the year. Southern Nevada Health District spokeswoman Stephanie Bethel says the most recent cases were confirmed this week.
CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada water officials are lobbying for changes in laws governing waste water and groundwater basins use in the face of lingering drought. Republican Sen. Pete Goicoechea (Goh-gah-CHEE'-ya) said the bills are critically important for parts of rural Nevada that have come to largely depend on groundwater due to the state's extended drought.

The Robertson family's rags-to-riches story has been made into a musical that will be performed in a small Las Vegas theater starting April 15.
