COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defenseman Ryan Murray on injured reserve, sidelining him for the next four to six weeks with a high ankle sprain.
Murray, injured in Friday night's 7-1 win over St. Louis, missed 44 games earlier this season due to a knee injury. The former No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 draft has one assist in nine games.
The 21-year-old native of Regina, Saskatchewan, had four goals and 17 assists, four penalty minutes and a plus-4 plus/minus rating in 66 games in his first NHL season in 2013-14.
The Blue Jackets have lost 324 man-games to injury this season with 31 games remaining. They had 292 in 82 games last season.
