FRUIT HEIGHTS, Utah (AP) — Authorities say human bones have been found in the same area where a skull was discovered in Davis County, but they're unsure how long the remains had been there.
Sheriff's Sgt. DeeAnn Servey says investigators have combed an area along a U.S. Highway 89 frontage road in Fruit Heights since the skull was found by a man out for a walk Thursday night.
She says clothing also was found in the area as the search continued over the weekend.
The skull and bones will be sent to a forensic laboratory in an effort to determine the age and gender of the person, and how long the remains had been in the area.
Servey has said it appears the skull had been there "for some time."
