SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Federal court officials will hold a panel discussion to share ideas on managing the recent surge in opiate abuse in Massachusetts.

The discussion will focus on policy initiatives and strategies of the medical and treatment communities. Speakers will include U.S. Congressman Richard Neal, U.S. District Court Judge Mark Mastroianni and U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz.

The event will be held Monday in U.S. District Court in Springfield. It is the third panel discussion on opiate usage in Massachusetts organized by the U.S. Probation & Pretrial Services Office.
