DOVER, Del. (AP) — Brandon Stewart scored 24 points on 7-of-13 shooting to help lead Bethune-Cookman to a 75-70 win over Delaware State on Saturday.

With the score tied at 62 with 3:25 left, Bethune Cookman put together an 8-2 run over the next 2:37 capped off by Denzel Dulin layup to take a 70-64 lead with 48 seconds remaining. Two Kavon Walker free throws for Delaware State moved the Hornets to within four, but they got no closer.

Ricky Johnson added 19 points, and Dulin finished with 11 for the Wildcats (8-16, 4-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Bethune-Cookman trailed 34-28 at the half and shot 41.8 percent for the game, just its second win when trailing at the half and its sixth when shooting below 45 percent.

Amere May led the Hornets (10-13, 4-4) with 18 points. Kendall Gray, the nation's leading rebounder, added 13 points and 14 rebounds.
