DELAND, Fla. (AP) — Brett Comer scored 21 points, knocking down 4 of 7 from 3-point range, as Florida Gulf Coast won its sixth straight game, cruising past rival Stetson 67-51 on Saturday.
The win keeps Florida Gulf Coast (17-7) tied with North Florida atop the Atlantic Sun Conference standings at 7-1. North Florida beat Jacksonville, 77-50, Friday night.
Stetson (8-16, 2-6) led by seven early, 17-10, but Comer drilled a 3-pointer to spark a 15-1 run to close the first half and give the Eagles a 25-18 advantage.
Comer was 7 of 15 from the field while grabbing eight rebounds and dishing off a dozen assists. The Eagles were just 26 of 66 from the floor as a team (39.4 percent) and collectively 7 of 28 (25 percent) from beyond the arc.
Kentwan Smith scored 17 points and grabbed 11 boards to lead the Hatters. Divine Myles added a dozen points.
