ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — The Naval Academy says a student has been found dead in his room.
The academy announced in a statement Saturday morning that Midshipman Rolando Amador was found dead around 9 p.m. Thursday. The 22-year-old junior was in his room at Bancroft Hall, the academy dormitory.
The statement says the circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation. No foul play is suspected.
Amador was from Harpswell, Maine. He was a mechanical engineering major and participated in intramural sports.
The academy is providing grief counseling to his fellow students.
