EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Police say a Lansing-area man is dead and another is injured following a shooting at a parking structure near Michigan State University's campus.

East Lansing police are seeking two suspects after the shooting just before midnight Thursday at the Grove Street parking ramp. In a statement, police say 22-year-old Michael Anthony Smith of DeWitt Township died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say a 21-year-old DeWitt Township man was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.

East Lansing police Lt. Steve Gonzalez tells the Lansing State Journal in an email that investigators "do not believe that this was a random act."

Police dispatch reports say a woman called 911, reporting 15 gunshots. An alert was issued at Michigan State University. Police say the men who were shot weren't MSU students.
