LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Utah congressman is reviving an effort to ban online gambling nationwide. Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz (CHAY'-fits) reintroduced his Restoration of America's Wire Act bill yesterday which would reverse the Justice Department's 2011 decision allowing online gambling with the exception of sports betting. The director of research firm GamblingCompliance Chris Krafcik doesn't expect the bill to pass.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Republican Attorney General Adam Laxalt is hosting law enforcement officials from across the state today for a summit aimed at determining how different agencies can better work together. The event in Carson City includes discussions about crime trends such as human trafficking, illegal drugs and violent crime. Sheriffs, chiefs and district attorneys from Nevada's 17 counties are expected to attend.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (AP) — South Lake Tahoe city officials say a fire captain in federal custody on child pornography charges has resigned. Capt. Mark Wygant resigned yesterday and no longer is on the city payroll. Wygant was arrested last week after federal agents say they found a flash drive at the South Lake Tahoe fire station with more than 5,000 images of child pornography they believe belonged to Wygant.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — J.J. O'Brien's three-point play with :51 left in the game lifted San Diego State past Nevada, 65-63, last night. The win allowed the Aztecs to keep pace with Wyoming atop the Mountain West Conference standings. Eric Cooper Jr. finished with 17 points to lead the Wolf Pack.
