FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — New York Jets assistant coaches Ron Heller and Steve Hagen have been retained by new coach Todd Bowles.
Heller will remain the team's assistant offensive line coach, a position he has held the last two seasons. Hagen will switch from tight ends coach to assistant special teams coach under new special teams coordinator Bobby April.
The team announced the moves Tuesday.
Bowles, hired on Jan. 14, has filled out his staff the last few weeks, including bringing in Chan Gailey as offensive coordinator and Kacy Rodgers as defensive coordinator.
Heller, a former NFL tackle, and Hagen are the only position coaches to be retained from former coach Rex Ryan's staff. Ryan was fired on Dec. 29 after six seasons, and hired by Buffalo.
