BOISE, Idaho (AP) — State lands officials are requesting more money for wildfire suppression and a better public records keeping system for fiscal year 2016. Idaho Department of Lands Director Tom Schultz is asking legislators for $100,000 for the first phase of a system that will make it easier to fill public record requests. Overall, the department is seeking roughly a $3.7 million budget boost.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A blogger who wanted to shoot a video of an Idaho House committee meeting was asked to stop, while a cameraman for a TV station was allowed to continue. Tom Munds of Middleton says he wanted to record the House State Affairs for his blog. While Munds disagreed with the committee, he complied and put his camera away.

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — An eastern Idaho family has launched an online fundraising effort to help cover the estimated $1,200 cost to access public records about the Idaho State University president's residence. The Idaho State Journal reports Rhonda and Eric D'Amico and their son Sam D'Amico filed a public record request documents showing how much the university spends to renovate and maintain the Servel House.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — Court documents say police turned away a defense attorney and referenced television show violence during their midnight interrogation of a 14-year-old boy authorities say confessed to killing his father and brother. The Coeur d'Alene Press obtained the documents used by a judge last week denying a defense motion to suppress statements made by defendant Eldon Gale Samuel III, now 15.
