EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) — Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville says its full-time spring enrollment is the most in its 58-year history.
The university says its number of full-time students is 10,153, bringing to 13,178 the total number of students on campus. That's more than 300 students than a year ago.
The university attributes the increase to a 12 percent rise in international enrollment and a 75 percent jump in online and off-campus enrollment. The school also touts a 40 percent boost in new transfer students.
SIU says the higher spring numbers follow a fall semester in which enrollment increased by 132 students.
