BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Authorities in Meridian arrested a 23-year-old man accused of fatally shooting his father-in-law. Police told the Idaho Statesman that Cameron Post was booked into jail on a charge of second-degree murder. An autopsy will be performed Monday.

BLACKFOOT, Idaho (AP) — A Snake River High School student plans to ask the Blackfoot City Council to ban plastic and paper shopping bags. The Blackfoot Morning News reports that 16-year-old Hayley Lemon is tackling this environmental issue for her senior project. Lemon says she'd like Blackfoot to be a leader in environmental responsibility. Her presentation is scheduled for tomorrow's council meeting at Blackfoot City Hall.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Wildlife officials plan to capture the surviving members of a bighorn sheep herd in Hells Canyon infected with bacterial pneumonia. A helicopter will be used this week to capture three Rocky Mountain bighorns from the Sheep Mountain herd that are on the Idaho side of the Snake River and search for more sheep on the Oregon side. Only a handful of sheep remain from the herd that once had nearly 90 individuals.

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — Higher elevations in Eastern Idaho could get 5 inches of snow through tomorrow morning as a few small storms move through the region. Eastern Idaho's mountains are expected to be hit hardest by the storms while lower elevations see mostly rain.
