Patriots strong safety Malcolm Butler made an interception at the goal line as the Seahawks were one yard away from the go-ahead touchdown. That was all that Tom Brady and New England needed to beat Seattle 28-24 Sunday night to win a nip-and-tuck Super Bowl 49.
UNDATED (AP) — A snowstorm blanketing the Chicago area is causing flight cancelations, power outages and creating dangerous driving conditions. More than 1,600 flights have been canceled out of both of Chicago's airports. More than a foot of snow is expected to fall in the area. Chicago Public Schools have canceled Monday classes because of the storm.
BOSTON (AP) — The snowstorm that's moving from the upper Midwest to New England is forcing the suspension of jury selection in the trial of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-HAHR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv). Around a foot of snow is forecast for Monday in Boston. Proceedings are set to resume Tuesday. They were also postponed during last week's blizzard.
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama is laying out an ambitious six-year, $478 billion public works program of highway, bridge and transit upgrades as part of his $4 trillion budget proposal for the fiscal year starting Oct. 1. White House officials say half would be paid by a one-time mandatory tax on profits that U.S. companies have amassed in other countries.
YANGON, Myanmar (AP) — The iron gate that stood in front of the home of Myanmar's formerly imprisoned democracy icon, is going on the auction block. The current owner says the starting bid will be $200,000. Proceeds will go toward helping Nobel-prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi (ahng sahn soo chee) build a new National League for Democracy party headquarters.
