Shattenkirk leaves Blues' game at Capitals with injury

WASHINGTON (AP) — St. Louis defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk has left the Blues' game against the Capitals because of a lower body injury.

Shattenkirk collided with Washington's Alexander Ovechkin in the first period Sunday and went to the locker room.

The team announced between periods that Shattenkirk wouldn't return.

The All-Star defenseman began play tied for second on the team in scoring with 40 points.
